I've got Damask print in the brain! LOL I am dying to have the Damask print backdrop for the mini studio at the reception. I have contacted Kado Istimewa (decoration vendor) - they are in the process of finding a set of Damask print backdrop for their collection, many couples have requested it in the past. They are hoping to find some before the day of my wedding.
Through my internet research, I found out that the pricetag for a set of Damask print backdrop is in the $200 range. I may offer Kado Istimewa to purchase online from the US, and have them either reimburse me for the full amount or deduct $200 from the total charge on my invoice. But I will have to request a quote and make sure its not hard to transport to Jakarta! :)
Meanwhile I am looking into other alternatives. I've read a few articles about Damask backdrop, some people have unconventional yet pretty clever budget concious ideas. For instance, substituting the backdrop with curtain panels or just damask print fabric. I suppose this can be my backup plan, they cant cost that much.. Right.? If that didn’t work then I guess I will have to settle with whatever backdrop Kado Istimewa have in stock. Blech.. I really think the backdrop is very important because these pictures will last a lifetime!! :)
Since we wont have a band playing at the reception, I was looking into other entertainment alternatives. Im thinking about renting a projector screen. Looping the videos I created over the years of our mini rendevouz all over the Cayman Islands, prewedding pictures and maybe even some of our old pictures highlighting how it was to survive 5 years of long distance relationship! LOL L.A.M.E?? My dad suggested to also play the video recording of the Akad ceremony. Kado Istimewa can provide this for me, for a hefty 2 million rupiahs (approximately $215), this will include 3 meter x 4 meter screen, the projector, DVD player and operator. Eerrrr pretty pricey.. I will have to sleep on it for a little while.

seinget gw dia emang mahal, kurleb 3X4m bisa kena 2juta. soalnya dia import sendiri & harganya euro. tapi euro kan lagi turun tuh sekarang ya, sapa tau jadi murce :p bagus2 kok, bahannya tebel & timbul gitu lho, aduh gw ga tau istilahnya hehe.
di showroomnya ada yang udah ditempel ditriplex gitu & sebenernya bisa langsung dijadiin backdrop karena ukurannya udah pas (kurleb 3X3cm). coba aja kilik2 bisa nyewa ga hehe.
I've asked my hubby, he's a professional photographer & he said 2 mill is reasonably enuff kok. 2 years ago is about 1.5 mill so 2 mill for now is just about rite.

dulu suami gw di jakarta bo', gw yang di US karena S2. jadi masih ada yang bisa mewakili gw di jakarta hihi. apalagi nyokap/eyang gw jawir banget :( jadilah gw yang musti sabar2 diinget2in mlulu mereka udah sepuh lah pokoknya.
dulu gw juga sempet panik & seneweeen banget, sampe akhirnya abang gw bilang "it's juat a wedding. it's a PARTY. u should worry about ur marriage ahead, not the party itself". huh easy for him to say tapi akhirnya gw bisa relax karena ya sudahlah pasrah aja hehe.

Beberapa waktu yang lalu aku nyari wallpaper buat kamar di situ. Ada banyak pilihan pattern damask. Kalo cuma untuk backdrop foto aja sih bisa diakalin ya. Wallpapernya disusun di board besar gitu..
